NYLX is thrilled to have not only some of the best swing bands in town playing for us, but the world. We’re sure you already know and love many of these groups as they play swing dances, exchanges and festivals the world over… and yes, thats some hometown pride!


Gordon Webster Band

Pianist Gordon Webster is one of the most sought after musicians in the lindy hop world. His tremendous musicianship and passion, supported by his first-hand knowledge of social dancing, have inspired lindy hoppers at hundreds of dance events worldwide. Drawing on influences as diverse as Fats Waller, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson and Gene Harris, Webster serves up a smorgasbord of styles unified by one characteristic: irresistible danceability.

Danny Jonokuchi & The Revisionists

Danny Jonokuchi & The Revisionists are “today’s premier swing band” (Broadway World) from the heart of New York City. Fueled by an unwavering love of dancing, their music has been described as “smile-inducing” (DownBeat) as well as “crisp, clean, and refreshingly joyful” (Syncopated Times). Their latest album, “Together Again” (2022), was released following their headlining performance at Lincoln Center’s Summer For The City Festival.  In 2020, they were unanimously named the winners of the inaugural Count Basie Great American Swing Contest for their virtual performance of “One O’Clock Jump”. The award-winning track was included on the Late Night Basie album, alongside a star-studded roster of artists paying tribute to the great Count Basie. Trumpeter and bandleader Danny Jonokuchi has performed on two Grammy-Award winning projects and was named the 2024 Wayne Shorter Jazz Arranging Prize winner. With the spirit of the Savoy Ballroom, their vibrant performances have quickly made The Revisionists one of the top-tier bands where they have filled dance floors at Lincoln Center, The Rainbow Room, Dizzy’s Club, The MET, The Guggenheim, MOMA, The Edison Ballroom, Gotham Hall, Sony Hall, The Alhambra Ballroom, The Ziegfeld Ballroom, The Atomic Ballroom, The Northampton Jazz Festival, The Gotham Jazz Festival, The Joye in Aiken Festival, The Cicada Club, Hudson Yards, City Winery The Swing Remix, The Boston Tea Party, Beantown Dance Camp, & Swing Out New Hampshire. Other notable performances include The International Lindy Hop Championships (ILHC), the American Lindy Hop Championships (ALHC), headlining Lincoln Center’s Summer For the City festival, the opening of the Louis Armstrong House Museum Center, and the closing party of the Tiffany & Co. Eyal Vilner Big Band

Eyal Vilner is one of the leading new voices in the New York swing and big band scene. Born in Tel Aviv, saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist, composer and bandleader Eyal Vilner moved to New York in 2007 and started his big band the following year.

The Eyal Vilner Big Band has been performing widely at some of New York’s landmarks such as Lincoln Center, Works & Process at the Guggenheim, The Joyce Theater, Birdland, Dizzy's Club, Smalls Jazz Club, Minton’s Playhouse, Midsummer Night's Swing, and Central Park SummerStage. Internationally, Eyal has performed on Israel's most prestigious stages such as the Red Sea Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Museum, Jerusalem Theater, The Tel Aviv Jazz Festival as well as the historical La Bellevilloise, Le Duc des Lombards, and Caveau de la Huchette in Paris, France.

Adrien Chevalier Gypsy Jazz

Adrien Chevalier is a New York City based French Violinist, specializing in Hot & Gypsy Jazz, and touring internationally with several formations, both as a leader and a sideman. Born in Provence, South of France, into a family of violinists, he began at the Avignon Classical Conservatory before moving to Paris. There he developed his passion for Gypsy jazz and Eastern European music. In 2011 he moved to New York City where he co-founded the acclaimed Avalon Jazz Band. Adrien Chevalier often collaborates with renowned artists and tours regularly in Europe, South America and Asia.
